Final Grades!

Last week I had finals in my Teaching as a Profession and The American Experience Since 1945 classes. I recieved my grades for them and I would have to say they were a little shocking. I felt that my teaching final would be good and I was right. I recieved a 245/250 with an overall grade of 96.1%. Another A to add to my collection. YES!

History was a surprise, considering I hate that subject. Even that grade was not to bad. I recieved a 237/250 with an overall score of 91.9%. An A-, but still an A.

My next classes are Religions of the World and Child Developement. This is my first week, but so far so good. 30 credit hours down and 30 more to go before I can substitute teach!

Day Two at the Silvers' Residence!

Day two brought more excitment. Kierstyn and Kariana started to miss daddy and ask for him one minute after another. Manda and Emilee had some friends over after as Emilee puts it they finished their "tons" of homework. Tonight was spaghetti and meatball night and we sang "On top of Spaghetti" and Kierstyn and Kariana were cracking up.

After supper we watch the movie "Hotel for Dogs" and it was really good and funny (for a movie all about dogs:). After the movie came time to get ready for bed, but before that we had to first catch Kierstyn and Kariana in butterfly nets and have a pillow fight with Amanda and Emilee. Sorry no pics, we were all being beaten to much to take pics. Even the little
girls got in some good hits! The fun had to come to an end and everyone was in bed by 9:00p. We read night night stories (for the little ones) and books, then lights were out by 9:15p.

The little girls were giving some trouble going to bed, but they finally fell asleep by 11:00p and I went to sleep after talking to James on messenger around midnight. All in all it was a good second day. Looking forward to day three!

Mrs. Brandy Comes Again!

Mrs. Brandy (Parents as Teachers Educator) came to visit us again today. She made sure that it was a day that Zach was out of school, since she hasn't seen him in awhile. The kids always have a blast when she comes and today was no different. She brought different kinds of blocks and some books. Todays lesson was all the ways you can learn while playing with blocks.

Zachery was given some sheets with drawings of block towers and he was asked to build the tower in the picture. He was able to build every single tower with no errors. He also built some towers, cars, and planes. He read some books and traced around blocks to make Mrs. Brandy a picture. He decided to make her a race car!

The girls were asked to build a tower as tall as they could, but they kept knocking each others over. They also read some books and drew some pictures. She looked for basic drawing stages; such as circles, to make sure they are progressing properly. She noticed that they already hold a writing utensil they correct way and can make A's and M's. They are also able to draw circles and ovals. Overall, they are all right on track and she looks forward to their next visit. I recommend anyone who has the time, join the PAT and let them come and play some educational, yet fun games with your kids!

Step 1 of 3

We are working on sprucing up the the house and making it a little more inviting. I have hinted around to James that I would like a eight peice patio set for Mother's Day, but of course then I would also need a patio as well. So we have started working on the improvements. The first step was to make a garden box (for our fruits and vegies) and a short addition off to the left of the concrete "porch" we have. This addition is for the grill to sit on so it would be level. You should see me cooking on this grill that is unlevel :) Very interesting to say the least!

The second step is to make another box (the first wasn't big enough) for pumkins and watermelons. We have the materials for this project, the hard part is getting James to get it done.

The third and final step is a 8x9 foot patio off to the right of the concrete porch for my patio to sit on. James still has to get the materials for this, but he says he has plenty of time :) He plans on doing the rest while I am staying at my sisters for a couple of weeks. He said, "I'll do it while your at Brandi's so you can't put your two cents worth in." Isn't he just so mean to me? I hope he has it done when I get back! The first part looks great, so I can't wait to see the rest!

Easter Fun!

Thought everyone might like to see the pictures of the kids hunting eggs. The Easter Bunny chose some weird places to hide the eggs this year! Zachery found one that had rolled under the car and no one else could see it! Quentin found some in the trees, the mail box, drain pipes, and more. The girls are still little, so most of the ones they found were just thrown throughout the yard, but even they found some that the boys were unable to see. A little chilly, but overall a good Easter!

Easter Egg Dying!

We love Easter here at the Nemeth's! When Easter comes we know that it's time to dye eggs and that warmer weather is just around the corner. After filling eggs with candy on Thursday, we took time to dye some eggs on Saturday. The kids love to dye eggs and Zach didn't stop with the eggs. He decided that he needed to be a different color as well! By the time he was done his hands were every color you could imagine. I told him since he was colorful, then we would hide him with the eggs and see who could find hime :) They all had fun and Zach and the girls even wrote their names on a couple of eggs!

The finished product!

Learning Fun!

Thursday the girls and I played some learning games and read some books. I love when kids think they are playing and to their suprise, they are actually learning :) We played with some blocks and worked on our colors at the same time. They also worked on hand and eye coordination. Kari was able to build her tower 8 inches tall (straight up) and Kierstyn built hers to about 10 inches tall (straight up).
After playing with the blocks Kari decided she wanted to read me a story. She picked out her favorite booked entitled "Good Night, Monster." She has memorized the words and pictures, so she used her picture clues to read me the story, which by the way is the first step of reading :) Kierstyn was not about to feel left out, so she grabbed another book and did the same. Her book has not been read quite as much, so she wasn't quite as successful, but she got the jist of it. We all had a blast and learned in the mean time!

Easter's on it's way!

Yesterday after school the kids helped the Easter Bunny by filling the eggs with candy. Every year the kids help the Easter Bunny out by filling and dying some eggs for him. Then they leave the Easter Bunny the eggs and some carrots (Quentin's idea) on Easter Eve.

When Quentin was about 4 years old he said "Mom, we leave Santa cookies, we have to leave the Easter Bunny something or he'll feel left out." So now we have decided that the Easter Bunny might like some carrots and of course a healthy glass of milk :)

We plan to dye eggs on Saturday, so I will have more pics for you then!

My New Toys!

About a week ago I was able to get some long over do toys for myself. Although, I don't get very many things for myself, I thought it was time for me to splurge. About a year agao I got rid of my old 8mm video camera with the intentions of getting a new CD version. As things tend to do, other things came up and put those plans on hold. Then we forgot or found things that we wanted more, so finally I broke down and bought a new one. It is just your basic Sony-DCR Camcorder, but that is all I need is basic. If it was up to James, we would have the "best" of everything to do with cars or electronics :) It has a touch screen and also takes pictures, so you can do it all in one. It is pretty cool!

I have also been wanting a collage maker to make pretty pictures for my blog. I now have the Photo Explosion Deluxe program and I have finally figured it out with the help of Brandi and James, so thanks Guys. As many of you know, I am technologically illiterate and if it weren't for these two I would know nothing. I'm sure they love all my stupid questions :)

Last but not least I got a new Samsung Propel cell phone. James borrowed my phone for a month awhile back and when he put it in his poket the coins scratched up the screens, so I couldn't see who I was calling or who was calling me. How can you avoid people's calls when you can't see who's calling? Just kidding! Anyway, after a week of playing I have finally learned how to use them and can now show them to you.

Spring is in the Air!

Monday was a beautiful Spring day! The sun was shining, the temp. was just right, and the kids were running off some extra energy. The kids have been waiting all winter long to drag the bikes back out of the garage and the day finally came. The kids spent the day riding bikes, playing ball, and getting the garden ready for planting.

This year we decide to plant our usual flowers and plants, but we also decided to plant some fruits and vegetables. We chose to plant some Stargazer Lillies and Carolyn Whortons in the front, while the big garden is in the back. Each of the kids got to pick a fruit or vegetable for the garden. Quentin chose strawberries and Tomatoes and Zachery picked corn and pumpkins. The girls picked out some watermelon and green beans, so if all goes well, we'll be eating good this summer. I hope to get it all planted before I leave for Brandi's, but with this Missouri weather it may be December before it warms up :)

Finally! Spring is in the Air!
